Thorlux Lighting LLC is a group member company of FW Thorpe Plc in the UK. This operation was incorporated as a Joint Venture in United Arab Emirates in June 2014.
It is a sister company to Thorlux Lighting, Philip Payne, Solite Europe, Portland Lighting, TRT Lighting, Lightronics and Famostar BV all of which are based in Europe. All our companies have been amongst the leading innovators of both systems and energy efficient products delivering the best quality lighting solutions for commercial, industrial, retail, heritage, clean room, signage and infrastructure projects since its inception in 1936.
It is based in Abu Dhabi and has representation in all of the Emirates, Thorlux Lighting LLC is well positioned to provide a diverse lighting range for all markets.

The Thorlux range of luminaires is designed, manufactured and distributed by Thorlux Lighting, a division of the FW Thorpe Plc group.
Thorlux luminaires have been manufactured continuously since 1936, the year Frederick William Thorpe founded the company.
The Company now operates from the Group’s modern 16,882 square metre self-contained factory in Redditch, Worcestershire, central England.
Thorlux is well known throughout the world and provides a comprehensive range of professional lighting and control systems for architectural, commercial, floodlighting, industrial, hazardous area and tunnel applications.
The Company is assessed to BS EN ISO 9001:2015, which is the customer’s assurance that Thorlux luminaires are subject to the most stringent quality control. Certification to BS EN ISO 14001:2015 reassures the customer that products are manufactured in the most environmentally friendly manner.

Philip Payne Limited was established in 1968 and since this time has provided specialist and bespoke lighting products from a number of locations in the Solihull area as it has steadily grown.
In more recent years the company has focused on the quality end of the market forging strong relationships with many leading Architectural building services and engineering practices resulting in the supply of products to many of the UK’s most iconic building projects often designing products specifically for individual projects.
After initially securing ISO9002 registered firm status in June 2000, Philip Payne went on to achieve transfer to ISO9001 in December 2003. In the intervening period membership was also accepted to The Lighting Industry Association and Industry Committee for Emergency Lighting. Both organisations boast a membership of the leading British and European Lighting Companies shaping innovations in areas of technology, safety and the environment.

Solite Europe is a leading manufacturer and supplier of clean room lighting equipment and luminaires within the UK and Europe.
It provides luminaires for laboratories, pharmaceutical areas, semi-conductor manufacturing areas including hospitals, kitchens and food preparation applications.
Since its management buyout in 1998 and the subsequent acquisition of the company by FW Thorpe Plc in 2010, Solite Europe has strengthened its reputation as a company that can supply specialist lighting and clean-area products to the highest standards.

Portland Lighting design, manufacture and supply innovative lighting products to the brewery, retail and sign lighting industries.
The company operates from a modern 1,300 square metre facility in Walsall, that was purposely designed to enable the fast turnaround of customer orders.
Established in 1994, the product range has continually evolved to ensure that Portland remains one of the leading companies in their sector.
Road & Tunnel Lighting Systems
TRT (Thorlux Road and Tunnel) Lighting, an independent specialist division which has evolved from Thorlux Lighting, is the latest venture with the FW Thorpe group.
Building on a vast number of years of lighting experience, TRT is dedicated to the design, manufacture and supply of LED road and tunnel luminaires. The target for TRT is to produce quality, efficient, stylish, high performance LED products that are manufactured in the UK.

Based in Waalwijk, Netherlands, Lightronics specialises in the development, manufacture and supply of external and impact resistant lighting, which includes street lighting, outdoor wall and ceiling luminaires as well as control systems. The majority of its revenue is derived from the Netherlands but there is also an export presence in other European locations.
Lightronics was originally established in 1946 and has a strong tradition of solid, reliable products as well as being known for its innovation. Products are environmentally friendly in terms of energy use as well as in the prevention of light pollution.
